Trachyphyllia Coral
Trachyphyllia coral, also known as the open brain coral, is a brightly colored free living coral. They have the ability to inflate their tissue and move around with the water current. In the home reef aquarium this movement is pretty limited since the flow in most aquariums doesn't begin to compare with that in the ocean. Our "Trachy" corals for sale are photosynthetic corals, meaning they get most of their nutrients from the zooxanthellae living in their flesh. However they will benefit greatly from regular feedings of meaty foods like mysis shrimp. Trachyphyllia require low to medium light and water flow.
